Dopamine Detox doesn't work

A dopamine detox (DD) is a period of fasting. To be more precise fasting of the senses, restricting yourself from phone use, social media, music, information input and in some cases even eating.

This can NOT be done in 24 hours.

The dopamine receptors NEED way more than 1 day to become sensitive again.

Ways that help with dopamine resetting

1. Declutter (Become Stoic)

Become aware over the things/tendencies that drain you of energy with little to no return. Anything that grabs your attention or provides unnecessary information should be decluttered.

Anything that is stimulatory should also be eliminated.

2. Replace (Trade the Good for the Great)

Things that are good and enjoyable can be replaced by something far greater. For example: instead of coffee, drink an adaptogenic tea which brings centeredness instead of fake energy and stimulation.

3. Fasting (Mental Fortitude)

Fasting is the primary virtue and the fastest way to regenerate or balance your neurochemistry. If possible, do a 7 day fast.

4. Socialize (An Accountability Circle)

Socializing fulfilles a deep need to connect with others. Most addictive behaviors come from a lack of socialization. Accountability will boost the chances of you succeeding significantly.
